Does your cat have pets?
|
| | | If your cat is in contact with
a dog that has recently had an upper respiratory tract infection,
your cat may be at risk from becoming ill as well. The reason is that
Bordetella bronchiseptica (Bb) can be passed from dogs to cats
causing both to be affected. | | |
|
| | |
| | | | Whereas Bb will cause dogs to
cough, cats usually develop cat flu-like symptoms including:
sneezing and snotty discharge from the eyes and nose. In some cases,
especially in kittens, Bb can cause severe disease and lead
to death. |
|
| | |
| | The risk may not come from your dog but a neighbour or relatives
pet. Play it safe. Talk to your vet about Bb and extra protection
from cat flu. |
